I spent much more making this!<\/p>\n<p>The results were extrordinary though, and when I had my fill, I made another new recipe <a href=\"https:\/\/misplacedone.com\/thewillards\/index.php\/2016\/03\/13\/buddys-plate-licker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plate Licker<\/a> &#8211; Holy Cow!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Preheat Oven:<\/strong>360\u00b0F | 180\u00b0C<\/h6>\n<h6><strong>Servings:<\/strong>4 &#8211; 6<\/h6>\n<h6><strong>Prep Time:<\/strong>1 hour<\/h6>\n<h6><strong>Cooking Time:<\/strong>90 minutes depending on size of beef and your preference for doneness<\/h6>\n<h5><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>2Tbsp Olive Oil<\/li>\n<li>Button Mushrooms (sliced)<\/li>\n<li>4 Cloves Garlic (minced)<\/li>\n<li>2Tbsp Olive Paste<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbsp Tomato puree<\/li>\n<li>2-3 packets of streaky bacon (approx 30+ slices)<\/li>\n<li>Beef Joint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>Season Roast Beef and brown it with Olive Oil<\/li>\n<li>Once browned, leave the roast on the countertop to reach room a manageable temperature while prepping the rest<\/li>\n<li>Sautee Mushrooms and Garlic with Olive paste and Tomato puree (once complete, leave on the counter to cool)<\/li>\n<li>Weave Streaky Bacon (double length, single width &#8211; enough to completely wrap the roast)<\/li>\n<li>Spread Mushroom mix over Weaved Bacon (leave 3 &#8211; 4&#8243; uncovered to layer when wrapping roast)<\/li>\n<li>Wrap Browned Roast with bacon\/mushroom weave &#8211; Skewer if necessary to keep the wrap on<\/li>\n<li>Place in a oven safe pan<\/li>\n<li>add 1\/4c red wine<\/li>\n<li>Place in oven at 180\u00b0C and baste every 20 minutes until done (minimum of 3 bastes and add more liquid if necessary) &#8211; be sure to take it out prior to it getting to the temperature you want as you will want it to sit for a while and rest &#8211; while this happens it will continue to cook<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serve with Yorkshire puddings, horseradish sauce, roasted veg (carrots et all) and roasted potatoes (veg and Spuds can be done with Roast)<\/p>\n<p>Pan drippings make a great gravy for the meat, veg and puddings!<\/p>\n<p>[\/bg_collapse]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[bg_collapse view=&#8221;button-orange&#8221; color=&#8221;#4a4949&#8243; expand_text=&#8221;Show More&#8221; collapse_text=&#8221;Show Less&#8221; ] Zoey brought a roast home and I was going to make my first Beef Wellington but decided I probably shouldn&#8217;t take so much time &#8211; Pfft!
