You can add \/ substitute chips and nuts as you wish, I also think that this would go amazing by adding dried fruit as well such as cherries or blueberries! Also makes great cupcakes!<\/p>\n<p>Oven temperature is really important here, hard outer shell and uncooked centre means too hot, hockey puck means too cold\u2026 I found this out the hard way (mind the pun!)<\/p>\n<p>Outstanding, even if the oven is too hot and it is an uncooked centre, it is hard to keep people away from this masterpiece<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Servings: <\/strong>makes one loaf<\/h6>\n<h6><strong>PREP: <\/strong>20 minutes<\/h6>\n<h6><strong>Cooking Time: <\/strong>one hour<\/h6>\n<h5><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>250g Plain flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Baking Powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda (Baking Soda)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Salt<\/li>\n<li>3 or 4 Ripe Bananas<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Milk (or buttermilk)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp Vanilla<\/li>\n<li>110g Butter 110g<\/li>\n<li>200g Caster Sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 Eggs<\/li>\n<li>200g Milk Chocolate Chips<\/li>\n<li>150g Chopped Walnuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170\u00b0 C \/ 350\u00b0f<\/li>\n<li>Grease the sides of the loaf tin and line bottom of it with parchment paper (makes it easier to get the loaf out once baked)<\/li>\n<li>Cream butter with sugar in a mixer then add eggs one at a time to mix completely<\/li>\n<li>Add mashed bananas<\/li>\n<li>Mix well<\/li>\n<li>Add dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt)<\/li>\n<li>Mix well<\/li>\n<li>Add flavouring (cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla)<\/li>\n<li>Mix well and add milk (or buttermilk) while mixing<\/li>\n<li>Fold in chocolate chips and nuts<\/li>\n<li>Pour into the greased and lined loaf tin and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hours (loaf done when a toothpick poked into the centre comes out clean).<\/li>\n<li>Cool in the tine for ~10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Awfully good cold or warm with butter or ice-cream! or just a simple slice.<\/p>\n<p>[\/bg_collapse]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[bg_collapse view=&#8221;button-orange&#8221; color=&#8221;#4a4949&#8243; expand_text=&#8221;Show More&#8221; collapse_text=&#8221;Show Less&#8221; ] That&#8217;s a mouthful I merged a lot of recipes that came from family and friends then added a little Dr Google to leverage all that is out there.
